Early parental deprivation as a functional factor in the etiology of schizophrenia and alcoholism
One thousand five hundred and sixty-one schizophrenic patients (631 males, 930 females) and 929 alcoholic patients (678 males, 251 females) from a state hospital were compared with a control group of 1,096 cases (478 males, 618 females) from a nearby, representative, urban community.
