Efficacy of Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation (tACS) for Treating Hallucinations
Accelerated Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation as an Adjunctive Treatment for Rapid Symptom Relief in Bodily Distress Disorder
Bodily distress disorder (BDD) is a challenging condition often unresponsive to pharmacotherapy. This case series explores accelerated transcranial direct current stimulation (atDCS) as an adjunctive treatment in five patients with treatment-resistant BDD. Patients received 2–5 daily sessions over approximately 10 days, targeting the left motor cortex or dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. Four patients showed significant pain reduction (Visual Analo…
The Longitudinal Link
Background and Aim Current clinical practice increasingly involves adolescents and adults with substance use disorder (SUD) who have a history of childhood ADHD. Literature shows a strong association between childhood ADHD and alcohol and cannabis use, with ADHD often worsening SUD outcomes. This review aims to assess the prevalence of childhood ADHD among adults with SUD through meta-analysis and compare the age of substance use onset between th…

Cyberbullying Victimization and Suicide Attempt Among Adolescents
The widespread use of the Internet among teenagers has raised concerns about cyberbullying and its impact on adolescent well-being. This study examined the association between cyberbullying victimization and suicide attempts among adolescents in high-income and low/middle-income countries. Data from six countries (Singapore, China, Iran, Indonesia, India, and Lithuania) were collected as part of the Eurasian Child Mental Health Study. A total sam…
Effectiveness of Comprehensive Health-literacy And Relaxing Music (CHARM) intervention on pregnancy-related anxiety among low-risk primigravid women
Pregnancy-related anxiety commonly occurs among first-time pregnant women, carrying an increased risk of harmful effects to both mother and the growing fetus or newborns. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of a Comprehensive Health-literacy And Relaxing Music (CHARM) intervention compared with two other stand-alone interventions (relaxing music–only intervention, comprehensive health literacy–only intervention) and a standard care group …
Experiences, Perceptions and Attitudes Toward Bullying Among School-Going Adolescents
Bullying victimisation affects an estimated 30% of individuals worldwide. While the prevalence and risk factors of bullying have been studied in India, comprehensive research on the phenomenon of bullying itself remains scarce. Our objective was to study the experiences, perceptions, and attitudes towards bullying among seventh to ninth-grade students. The study included all seventh to ninth graders ( N = 205) from two schools in the Udupi distri…
Pathways to care in alcohol use disorders
The study examined the pathway patients with alcohol use disorders followed to access tertiary care psychiatry services. We assessed 110 patients and one family member for each patient who sought psychiatry care for alcohol-related problems for the first time using the WHO encounter form. Only 5.5% of patients followed a direct pathway. The rest reached the tertiary hospital after third, fourth, and fifth encounters with other service providers s…
Feeling Unsafe at School Among Adolescents in 13 Asian and European Countries
The findings emphasize the need to create safe educational environments for all students, based on positive relationships with teachers and peers. School-based interventions to prevent bullying and promote mental health should be a natural part of school safety promotion
Designing and Conducting Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice Surveys in Psychiatry
Knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) surveys are popular in health care because they provide useful information and appear easy to design and execute. There are subtleties, however, in such surveys that early career researchers need to be aware of. This article does not provide a detailed review of the subject, nor does it address theory; rather, it provides practical guidance on matters such as identifying the need for the survey; defining th…
