  • Job Satisfaction among Black Female Managers: A Causal Approach

    Open Access•Roosevelt Wright, Shirley Wesley King et al.•ARTICLE•Human Relations•1987•Cited by: 4•References: 22

A structural equation model is proposed to delineate the various aspects of self-reported job satisfaction. The model specifies structural linkages among four factors including (1) background, (2) perceptions, (3) organizational, and (4) subjective ratings of overall job satisfaction. The proposed model is evaluated by using data from a random probability sample of blackfemale managers living in five southwestern states. The results support the p…

  • Job Satisfaction in the Workplace: A Study of Black Females in Management Positions

Roosevelt Wright, Shirley Wesley King et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Social Service Research•1985•Cited by: 2

This study examines the relative importance of background, perception, and organizational variables in explaining differences in job satisfaction levels of black female managers in human-service agencies. Correlational analysis revealed that nine out of twenty independent variables were significantly related to the level of job satisfaction. Multiple regression analysis revealed a six variable predictive model for job satisfaction. Implications o…

  • Predictors of self-sufficiency for the mentally ill in long-term care

    Open Access•Jean M Kruzich, William Berg et al.•ARTICLE•Community Mental Health Journal•1985•Cited by: 2•References: 11

  • The Utilization of Evaluative Research in Social Welfare Programs

    William E Berg, Richard Theado•ARTICLE•Social Service Review•1981•Cited by: 1•References: 1

Evaluative researchers must pay attention not only to design and methodology, but also to the eventual utilization of their findings. If we consider methodology and utilization as separate and distinct stages within the evaluative process, we may raise certain questions regarding the relationship between the research techniques used in an evaluation and their impact upon the program under review. This article explores this relationship using data…

  • Health Care Utilization Among the Elderly: A Causal Analysis

Roosevelt Wright, William E Berg et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Social Service Research•1980•Cited by: 4

The present study represents and attempt to develop a conceptual framework which provides a theoretical linkage between predisposing, enabling, and need for care factors and the utilization of physicians' services within an elderly population. Multiple regression and path analytic techniques are used to access the relative importance of these factors in determining health care utilization. The findings indicate, among other things, that the measu…

  • The Dimensions of De Maupassant: A Multidimensional Analysis of Students' Perception of Literature

    Howard Wainer, William J Berg et al.•ARTICLE•American Educational Research…•1972•Cited by: 1•References: 5

Determining with accuracy and precision the dimensions a reader perceives in a work of literature-and whether those dimensions are completely personal or common to other readers-is of great interest to the literary critic, the publisher, and, of course, the teacher: To the critic because such dimensions (form, content, plot, tone, thought, images, etc.) would reveal much about the work of art, to the publisher because they would reveal much about…
