Predictors of prospective suicide attempts in a group at risk of personality disorder following self-poisoning
Some clinical features, such as alcohol dependence, suicide intent, and hopelessness, may not be reliable predictors of SA among PD patients. However, in the short term, previous SA and, in the long term, depression and alexithymia may be the most robust clinical predictors to consider in our sample of patients with self-poisoning SA. Therefore, this case study suggests that Lithium plays a role in serum valproate level elevation, and supports the hypothesis of an association between an elevated serum valproate level, hyperammonemia and reversible encephalopathy. A more in-depth pharmacokinetic exploration would provide a better understanding of the mechanisms of these interactions and support for the benefit-risk balance associated with this frequent co-prescription
