    Current issues in alcohol-related violence are highlighted through the examination of correlational studies between alcohol and violent crime. Alcohol is associated with violent crime at a greater than chance level and at a significantly higher level than it is associated with nonviolent crime.     Laboratory research has shown that alcohol and aggression are related and that the consumption of distilled as opposed to brewed beverages results in more aggression. A field experiment was conducted in which confederates approached 38 males who had been drinking only brewed or only distilled beverages, and asked them four annoying questions.
