  • Multicultural experiences enhance human altruism toward robots and the mediating role of mind perception

TENG Yue, ZHANG Haotian et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2024

  • A Hybrid Discrete Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm Based on Label Similarity for Solving Point-Feature Label Placement Problem

Open Access•Wen Cao, Jiaqi Xu et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2023

The artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC) is a promising metaheuristic algorithm for continuous optimization problems, but it performs poorly in solving discrete problems. To address this issue, this paper proposes a hybrid discrete artificial bee colony (HDABC) algorithm based on label similarity for the point-feature label placement (PFLP) problem. Firstly, to better adapt to PFLP, we have modified the update mechanism for employed bees and onl…

  • Emotional awareness and adolescent relational aggression

Open Access•Siqi Zhao, Hong Guo et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2023

Despite previous research highlighting the impact of relational aggression on interpersonal relationships, few studies have examined the occurrence of this phenomenon during adolescence. To address this gap we conducted a crosssectional study of 702 Chinese adolescents to examine the association between emotional awareness and relational aggression, and the moderating effect of Machiavellianism. Our results revealed that there was a significant c…

Open Access•Siqi Zhao, Hong Guo et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2023

Externalizing problem behaviors significantly affect adolescent mental health. This study adopted a cross-sectional design based on the multifactor system model of personality and individual differences to explore the relationships between callous–unemotional traits, externalizing problem behaviors, moral disengagement, and emotion awareness. Survey data were collected from 1,080 adolescents in China. The results showed that callous–unemotional t…

  • The acquisition of the gender-brilliance stereotype

Open Access•Siqi Zhao, Peipei Setoh et al.•ARTICLE•Child Development•2022

Past research has explored children's gender stereotypes about specific intellectual domains, such as mathematics and science, but less is known about the acquisition of domain-general stereotypes about the intellectual abilities of women and men. • Parents with greater religiosity lie less to their children

Peipei Setoh, Rachel Santos et al.•ARTICLE•Psychology of Religion and…•2022

The current study extends the limited body of research on the relationship between parental lying and religiosity by investigating 4 types of lies told by Singaporean parents. We found that in contrast to Chinese and American parents (Heyman, Hsu, Fu, & Lee, 2013), greater religiosity among Singaporean parents is related to less lying to children, with the exception of white lies. This pattern of findings suggests that the effect of religiosity o…

  • Anthropocentrism in 2001

Siqi Zhao, Qinglong Peng•ARTICLE•Comparative Literature Studies•2020

While both are internationally acclaimed science fiction writers with remarkable attainments, Liu Cixin says that Arthur C. Clarke has been an important influence in his work. Their thematic concerns are similar, as they both represent the awe of indeterminacy in a vast universe, but they differ in their exploration of possibilities that expose the parochiality of anthropocentrism. Clarke's, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Liu's, The Three-Body Proble…
