  • The Multicultural Teaching Competency Scale

    Open Access•Lisa B Spanierman, Euna Oh et al.•ARTICLE•Urban Education•2011•Cited by: 11•References: 30

This article reports on the development and initial validation of the multidimensional Multicultural Teaching Competency Scale (MTCS). Data from 506 pre- and in-service teachers were collected in three interrelated studies. Exploratory factor analysis results suggested a 16-item, two-factor solution: (a) multicultural teaching skill and (b) multicultural teaching knowledge. Confirmatory factor analysis suggested that the two-factor model was a go…

  • Beliefs about affirmative action

Euna Oh, Chun Chung Choi et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Diversity in Higher…•2010•Cited by: 13•References: 9

Two models of affirmative action attitudes (i.e., group self-interest and racism beliefs) were examined among a sample of racially diverse college students. Open-ended questions were included to provide students an opportunity to elaborate on their beliefs about affirmative action and beliefs about the existence of racial discrimination. Findings from logistic regression analysis on a subsample (n 376) provide support for both models; race (a pro…

    Open Access•Lisa B Spanierman, Euna Oh et al.•ARTICLE•The Counseling Psychologist•2007•Cited by: 18•References: 31

The purpose of this investigation was to extend earlier conceptual and empirical literature on the ways in which White individuals respond to societal racism. To this end, the authors conducted in-depth interviews to examine 11 midwestern, non-Hispanic, White university students' reactions and experiences related to individual and institutional forms of racism perpetrated against people of color. We used the consensual qualitative research method…

    Open Access•H A Neville, Euna Oh et al.•ARTICLE•Psychology of Women Quarterly•2004•Cited by: 18•References: 4

Grounded in a culturally inclusive ecological model of sexual assault recovery framework, the influence of personal (e.g., prior victimization), rape context (e.g., degree of injury during last assault), and postrape response factors (e.g., general and cultural attributions, rape related coping) on self-esteem of Black and White college women, who were survivors of attempted and completed rape, were examined. As predicted, Black and White women i…

  • Development and Validation of the Korean Rape Myth Acceptance Scale

    Open Access•Euna Oh, H A Neville et al.•ARTICLE•The Counseling Psychologist•2004•Cited by: 6•References: 27

The purpose of this investigation was to develop a culturally relevant rape myth acceptance scale for Koreans. Three studies on the Korean Rape Myth Acceptance Scale (KRMAS) with approximately 1,000 observations provide initial validity and reliability. Specifically, results from exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses support four subscales: myths about rape survivors, rape perpetrators, the impact of rape, and rape as spontaneous. The KRMA…
