The Generic Job Satisfaction Scale
A scale on job satisfaction was developed, which could be used in a wide range of occupational groups. An initial item pool of 44 items thought to be aspects of job satisfaction was completed by a sample of 885 Ontario working adults in a wide range of occupations. Factor analysis was conducted on the items and a set of 10 items was defined on one factor. Cronbach's alpha for these items was .77. Average scores on the scales were not significantl…
