Cross-country connectedness in inflation and unemployment: Measurement and macroeconomic consequences
The legacy of a fractured Eurozone: The Greek Dra(ch)ma
Investment Crowding‐Out and Labor Market Effects of Financialization in the US
This paper studies the impact of financialization on unemployment in the United States. We estimate a dynamic multi‐equation macro labor model including labor demand, labor suppy, wage‐setting, and capital accumulation equations. Financialization appears as a key determinant of capital accumulation which, in turn, is the transmission channel toward its unemployment effects. We conduct a series of counterfactual simulations where we quantify the m…
The (Ir)relevance of the Nru for Policy Making: The Case of Denmark
We reconsider the central role of the natural rate of unemployment (NRU) in forming policy decisions. We show that the unemployment rate does not gravitate towards the NRU due to frictional growth, a phenomenon that encapsulates the interplay between lagged adjustment processes and growth in dynamic labour market systems. We choose Denmark as the focal point of our empirical analysis and find that the NRU explains only 33% of the unemployment var…
