Brokerage of the Illicit Migrant Labor and Trust
본 연구는 국내의 일용직 노동시장에서 민간 노동 중개업자들이 이주노동자들을 중개하는 과정을 탐구한다. 노동 중개인들은 비합법 이주노동의 수요와 공급을 포착하여, 이주자들을 2차 노동시장의 단기적이고 유연한 일자리에 배치한다. 일반적으로 중개인의 고용 알선과 이 과정에서 발생하는 이주자에 대한 착취는 중개인 개인의 비도덕성이나 불법 행위의 문제로 간주되어 왔다. 그러나 구체적으로 비합법 이주노동시장이 이주노동 통제와 어떤 관련을 맺는지, 그리고 이 구조가 어떻게 착취의 조건을 만들어내는지에 대해서는 주목하지 못했다. 본 연구는 지역 사회에서 인력 고용을 알선하는 선주민 중개업자들과 심층 인터뷰를 수행하고, 그들이 이주노동자와 고용주 사이에서 ‘신뢰’를 형성하고 유지하는 다양한 전략이 비합법 이주노동시장을 구성하고 있다는 점에 주목하였다. 중개인들은 이주자와 고용주 각각의 네트워크를 통해 일자리를 …
