Influence of dietary cis- and trans-fat on 1,2-dimethylhydrazine-induced colon tumors and fecal steroid excretion in Fischer 344 rats
To investigate the effects of the difference in the geometry of dietary fatty acids on colon tumorigenesis, male rats were fed semipurified diets containing either partially hydrogenated corn oil (trans-monoene fat) or olive oil (cis-monoene fat) at the 10% level and received a single oral dosage of 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH).
