Assessment of functioning using the WHODAS 2.0 among people with myasthenia gravis-associated disability
Our findings highlight the complexity of disabilities associated with MG, with social participation emerging as a particularly vulnerable domain. Although younger patients initially exhibited better functional performance, their long-term functional changes were comparable to those observed in older patients. Given the impact of functional limitations on employment, future research may focus on return-to-work interventions, as labor market partic…
Functioning performance trajectory and its associated factors for people with disability—A 4-year national study
Determining the factors associated with long-term functioning can serve as a reference for the development of health policies and improvement of quality of life for people with disabilities
An improvement of current hypercube pooling PCR tests for Sars-CoV-2 detection
The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic can be effectively controlled by rapid and accurate identification of SARS-CoV-2-infected cases through large-scale screening. Hypercube pooling polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is frequently used as a pooling technique because of its high speed and efficiency. We attempted to implement the hypercube pooling strategy and found it had a large quantization effect. This raised …
Structural Validity of an ICF-Based Measure of Activity and Participation for Children in Taiwan’s Disability Eligibility Determination System
To assess activity and participation for children in Taiwan's Disability Eligibility Determination System (DEDS), we developed a questionnaire, the Functioning Disability Evaluation Scale (FUNDES-Child), based on the Child and Adolescent Scale of Participation (CASP). The study follows a methodology research design to investigate the construct validity of the frequency and independence dimensions of FUNDES-Child 7.0. Two samples were randomly str…

What is the gap in activity and participation between people with disability and the general population in Taiwan
The AP curve for the disabled population increased rapidly at the beginning. The summary score was 13.21 in the performance at 90 percentile for the general population and 82.61 score for disabled adults that the similar gap in every domain, its means that there are significant functioning difference and health equality in general adults population and adults with disabilities. This presents a substantial challenge for both the government and the…
Environmental effects on WHODAS 2.0 among patients with stroke with a focus on ICF category e120
Effects of a 12-Week Pilates Course on Lower Limb Muscle Strength and Trunk Flexibility in Women Living in the Community
Researchers in Taiwan studying regular adult physical activity found that among married women aged 26 to 55 years, 56% participated in physical activity, and that the convenience and safety of the activity were major factors contributing to their willingness to exercise. Muscle weakness and poor trunk flexibility are closely related to some chronic diseases in women. In this cross-sectional survey, we used the Polestar PilatesTM method to explore…
Prevalence and secular trends in overweight and obese Taiwanese children and adolescents in 1991–2003
Analytical results demonstrate that prevalence and secular trends in overweight and obese Taiwanese children and adolescents increased significantly from 1991 to 2003. Taiwanese boys are more likely to become overweight and obese than their female counterparts
