Toward the Kim Dae-jung–Obuchi Keizo Joint Declaration 2.0: Strategic Partnership as a Peacebuilding Mechanism in East Asia
This article re-examines the 1998 Kim-Obuchi Joint Declaration by integrating the strategic partnership framework with peacebuilding theory, moving beyond traditional leadership-centric narratives. It argues that although the Declaration established a rare partnership of choice, its evolution has been sectorally asymmetrical: while sociocultural and economic cooperation flourished, political and security institutionalization remained volatile and …
Feasibility of the virtual reality-based assessments in patients with panic disorder
The current study provides preliminary evidence that the VRA-PD could be a valid anxiety behavior assessment tool
Antidepressant-induced mania in panic disorder: A single-case study of clinical and functional connectivity characteristics
Here, we demonstrate altered amygdala-DMN and amygdala-FPN connectivity in the PD-manic patient, as reported in bipolar disorder (hypo) manic episodes. Our study suggests that amygdala-based resting-state functional connectivity could serve as a potential biomarker for antidepressant-induced mania in panic disorder patients. Our findings provide an advance in understanding the neurological basis of antidepressant-induced mania, but further resear…
Distinct Differences in Emotional Recognition According to Severity of Psychotic Symptoms in Early-Stage Schizophrenia
Patients with schizophrenia are characterized by deficits in their ability to identify facial expressions of emotion, which are associated with impaired social and occupational function. An understanding of the deficits of facial affect recognition (FAR) early in the course of the illness can improve early intervention efforts to ameliorate potential functional deterioration. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics and correlations be…
Neuroprotective effects of Dioscorea opposita on scopolamine-induced memory impairment in in vivo behavioral tests and in vitro assays
KD-501, a standardized extract of Scrophularia buergeriana has both cognitive-enhancing and antioxidant activities in mice given scopolamine
Effects of Methylphenidate and Bupropion on DHEA-S and Cortisol Plasma Levels in Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
How to Convert Biological Carbon Into Graphite for AMS
Isotope tracer studies, particularly radiocarbon measurements, play a key role in biological, nutritional, and environmental research. Accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) is now the most sensitive detection method for 14 C, but AMS is not widely used in kinetic studies of humans. Part of the reason is the expense, but costs would decrease if AMS were used more widely. One component in the cost is sample preparation for AMS. Biological and environ…
