Home‐based intervention after discharge for Latino families of low‐birth‐weight infants
A home-based intervention designed for impoverished Latino families of low-birth-weight infants was implemented, and the efficacy assessed for infants and mothers. Specially trained public health nurses visited the participants' homes for 4 months for the “short” and 12 months for the “extended” intervention groups. Chronic illness in Lebanese preschoolers: Impact of illness and child temperament on the family
The impact on their families of chronic illness in young Lebanese children and the relationship between such impact and perceived temperament of the child were assessed. The effect was greater in families of children with leukemia than in families of children with congenital heart defects. This study investigated the relation of physical attractiveness to the academic performance of school children. Data were obtained from a private school in Zahlé, Lebanon. The physical attractiveness of 190 elementary school children as rated by 3 different individuals correlated .48 with their grade point averages by Spearman's rank-order procedure
