  • Impact of childhood adversity on suicidality among children in the United States

    Open Access•Elyse N Llamocca, Amanda J Thompson et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Orthopsychiatry•2026

1.62, 95% CI [1.35, 1.94]) were positively associated with suicidality; the associations were not moderated by race and ethnicity. Differential ACE exposure by race and ethnicity may help explain suicide-related disparities. ACE prevention and interventions, particularly among children of minoritized race and ethnicity, are vital. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2026 APA, all rights reserved)

  • Moundville

Virginia Wimberley, Amanda Thompson et al.•ARTICLE•TEXTILE•2010

The multi-mound site of Moundville in west central Alabama provided the samples, dated to Moundville II (ad 1250-1400) and III (ad 1400-1550) phases. Mound W, Mound R and the Rhodes site within the palisaded area provided textile remains. Textile fragments from Mound W and R are charred and small in size. The Rhodes site provided a copper breastplate with textile pseudomorphs. The fragments provide a wealth of information about technology, their …

  • Revealing Clues from Textile Particulate through Microscopy, Infrared Spectroscopy, and X-ray Microanalysis

Kathryn A Jakes, Amanda J Thompson et al.•ARTICLE•TEXTILE•2010

Textiles found in prehistoric sites in eastern North America often are brittle fragments. Many appear brown or black in color due to degradation and staining; most display no evidence of color or pattern. These degraded fragments readily shed particulate matter. Although typically discarded, study of the particulate provides a wealth of information. Based on work with comparative materials, optical microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray mic…

  • An Analysis of Textile Fragments from the Janey B. Goode Site

    Amanda Thompson, Amanda J Thompson et al.•ARTICLE•Midcontinental Journal of…•2008•Cited by: 2•References: 1

Excavations at the Janey B.Goode site (11S1232), located in the American Bottom region of Illinois, yielded carbonized textile remains from two pit features dating to the Terminal Late Woodland period and from one pit feature dating to the Mississippian period. The remains comprise both twisted or braided cordage pieces and actual twined textile fragments ranging in size from 2×3 cm to over 9×9 cm. Four different twining techniques are represente…
