A Therapeutic Framework of Drug Addiction
Outpatient Treatment of Alcoholics; Effects of Status, Stability and Nature of Treatment
Outpatient alcoholics of varying socioeconomic levels and stability are aided by different therapeutic techniques. For most, effective help depends more on a positive relationship between patient and therapist than on therapist orientation or training, type of medication, or frequency of attendance
Characteristics of Outpatient Alcoholics in Relation to Change in Drinking, Work and Marital Status During Treatment
The characteristics of 393 outpatients at a Boston alcoholism clinic are described. Abstinence or a reduction in drinking after treatment, and improved work behavior and marital relations were related to social status and personal stability
Alcoholism—behavioral research and therapeutic approach
Drugs and society
