  • Anorexia nervosa in children

    Patricia L Goetz, Ruth A Succop et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Orthopsychiatry•1977•References: 9

Thirty children seen between 1954 and 1970 with the diagnosis of anorexia nervosa were contacted between five and twenty years after initial treatment. Patients outcomes in terms of education, weight in adulthood, medical problems, marriage, psychiatric treatment, and recurrence of anorexia were surveyed. Results corroborate those of earlier studies suggesting that adjustment in adulthood is related to personality type

  • Psychosocial Dwarfism

    John B Reinhart, ALLAN L DRASH et al.•ARTICLE•Psychosomatic Medicine•1969

A female fraternal twin, who had severe growth retardation beginning in her seventh year, began to recover after entrance into a school environment. Physical, psychological, and social growth was reversed so that, at age 13, she was approximately equal to her twin brother in all respects. Psychosocial factors discovered in retrospect seemed related to recovery and are discussed
