Reciprocal Influences Between Proof Theory and Logic Programming
Sustainable urban tourism
This paper shifts the debate on sustainable tourism destinations from an emphasis on ecotourism and eco-resorts towards sustainable urban tourism destinations. A quantitative online survey of visitors to Melbourne, Australia, examined tourists’ pro-environmental behaviours in four major categories: recycling; green transport use; sustainable energy/material use (lighting/water usage), and green food consumption. It explores five major antecedents…
Tourism in the Green Economy
Events are a very distinctive and visible component of the tourism sector and a good ‘bellwether’ of progress to sustainability. A green economy requires rebooting an economy to one based on sustainability principles. Tourism and its related components such as events, can make a major contribution to the green economy. An effective way to make such a green economy contribution is to draw lessons from best practices in the tourism and events domai…
Responding to student expectations
This paper presents a study that used newly developed instruments to investigate student expectations at two points in a semester‐based course. Course convenors were able to make some changes in response to the feedback, explain to students how the feedback had informed the course processes, and work with tutors on delivery enhancements. The administration of these instruments, a partnership approach involving students, tutors and lecturers, cont…

Staff conflicts in the use of operant techniques with autistic children
Although operant techniques are being used frequently in clinical work, the interpersonal staff problems that arise over the use of these techniques have not been adequately considered in the literature. This paper discusses some of the problems encountered when an experimental design for a six-year-old child required that food be used as the reinforcer

We specify the operational semantics and bisimulation relations for the finite -calculus within a logic that contains the quantifier for encoding generic judgments and definitions for encoding fixed points. Since we restrict to the finite case, the ability of the logic to unfold fixed points allows this logic to be complete for both the inductive nature of operational semantics and the coinductive nature of bisimulation. The quantifier helps with…
