    Open Access•Peter P Grau, P Pfeiffer et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Trauma Theory…•2025

VHA patients with PTSD who have psychiatric comorbidity and receive multiple psychiatric medications were more likely to receive guideline-nonconcordant mood stabilizers and antipsychotics. Peers of individuals at risk for suicide may be able to play important roles in suicide prevention. • Developing Telemental Health Partnerships Between State Medical Schools and Federally Qualified Health Centers: Navigating the Regulatory Landscape and Policy Recommendations

Open Access•John C Fortney, Richard C Veith et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Rural Health•2019

BACKGROUND: Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) deliver care to 26 million Americans living in underserved areas, but few offer telemental health (TMH) services. The social missions of FQHCs and publicly funded state medical schools create a compelling argument for the development of TMH partnerships. In this paper, we share our experience and recommendations from launching TMH partnerships between 12 rural FQHCs and 3 state medical school…

BACKGROUND: Providing collaborative mental health treatment within primary care settings improves depression outcomes and may improve detection of mental disorders. Few studies have assessed the effect of collaborative mental health treatment programs on diagnosis of mental disorders in primary care populations. In 2008, many Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities implemented collaborative care programs, as part of the VA's Primary Care-M…
