  • Spatial variations and clustering in the rates of youth unemployment and Neet: A comparative analysis of Italy, Spain, and the UK

Open Access•Steven W Bradley, Steve Bradley et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Regional Science•2020

We investigate the “determinants” of spatial variations in youth unemployment and NEET rates, and the presence of spatial clusters, for Italy, Spain and the UK. We aggregate Labour Force Survey data for the period 1993–2018 to a “regional” level. We find that youths are sensitive to aggregate labor market conditions and a discouraged worker effect. In the UK and Spain, temporary jobs are more likely to be preferred to part‐time jobs, whereas in I…

These sudden changes, or environmental jolts, are difficult to prepare for or foresee. Are sudden changes always a liability or can they be an opportunity? The particular implication of environmental jolts for entrepreneurial organizations is …

Drawing from related work in entrepreneurship, sociology, and psychology, resourcefulness in the entrepreneurship context is defined as learned behavioral, financial, and social repertoires for dealing with problems, especially those of novelty, in the pursuit of an…
