A structured blended learning approach for medical imaging technology interns: A prospective randomized comparative study
BACKGROUND: To address radiation safety constraints and equipment shortages in Computed Tomography (CT) training, this study introduces a Structured Blended Learning (SBL) framework integrating Small Private Online Courses (SPOCs), Flipped Classroom (FC), Virtual Simulation (VS), and remote supervision enabled by 5G communication infrastructure. This approach bridges the theory-practice gap by providing a structured progression from knowledge acq…
Effort Expenditure Increases Risk-Taking for Improbable Rewards
Previous studies have found that exerting effort can lead people to engage in risk-taking behaviors. While effort can be either cognitive or physical, risk-taking can take place in either a risky context with known outcome probabilities or an ambiguous context with unknown outcome probabilities. The goal of the current research is to investigate how effort type and decision context influence risk-taking after effort exertion. Across three experim…

National Trends in Ethnic Disparities in Mental Health Care
OBJECTIVE: To compare trends in office-based treatment of mental disorders between Hispanics and non-Hispanics. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS: Analysis of a nationally representative sample of visits to office-based physicians conducted between 1993 and 2002 (N = 251,905). Visits were grouped into 3 discrete time periods, 1993-1996, 1997-1999 and 2000-2002. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Rate of diagnosis, type of mental health visit, type of treatme…
