Robust Hepatitis A Vaccination Response Within the United States Veterans Health Administration in the Wake of State Outbreaks
We assessed hepatitis A (HepA) vaccine receipt among susceptible individuals in outbreak and matched nonoutbreak states. Difference-in-differences models and multivariable logistic regression were used to compare HepA vaccination rates in these states. In the postoutbreak year, there was a 112% increase in HepA vaccinations in outbreak states versus a 6% decrease in nonoutbreak states. Differences persisted in our multivariable model (adjusted od…

The purpose of this study was to describe and explain the process by which homeless veterans manage their chronic health problems. In the United States, over 550,000 people experience homelessness on any given night. Of these, over 11% are veterans of the military, many whom suffer from at least one chronic disease.
