    Marissa M Zhu, Kimberly M Alberts et al.•ARTICLE•European Journal of Intercultural…•2023•References: 7

This mixed-methods study examines how 15 preservice teachers’ self-regulated learning (SRL) skills relate to their ICC development in a teacher education course. ICC was assessed using a standardised exam and an open-ended cultural dilemma. Participants’ SRL was assessed along 7 dimensions: planning, goal orientation, task strategies, self-efficacy, self-monitoring, self-evaluation, and adaptiveness. • Learning to be silent

Xiaowei Tang, Yi Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Language Culture and Curriculum•2020•References: 10

Prior research often attributed Chinese students’ classroom silence to their previous schooling experiences, yet rarely provides evidence of exactly how these experiences shaped students into silent learners. Through surveys and in-depth interviews with Chinese 6th graders, our study examined how students ‘learned to be silent’. Guided by the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) framework, our analysis showed that students’ non-participating behavio…

Paul A Shuper, Narges Joharchi et al.•ARTICLE•AIDS Care•2016

Although adherence is an important key to the efficacy of antiretroviral therapy (ART), many people living with HIV (PLWH) fail to maintain optimal levels of ART adherence over time. PLWH with the added burden of Hepatitis C virus (HCV) coinfection possess unique challenges that potentially impact their motivation and ability to adhere to ART. The present investigation sought to (1) compare ART adherence levels among a sample of HIV/HCV-coinfecte…

David Wong, Chung-Ngok Wong et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•2011•References: 2

We thank Auld et al. for underscoring the important distinction between formal health education and health information dissemination. As a pilot program, the main objective of the Public Health in the Parks grants initiative1 was to assess the feasibility and acceptability of including public health–focused programs in park curricula. The response to our initiative was overwhelmingly positive, and in fact, we funded 5 new parks (US $5000 or less)…

Russell and Rescher have interpreted his doctrine that relations between substances are ideal mental entities as entailing the reducibility of relational propositions to nonrelational ones. Hintikka and Ishiguro have argued that t…
