The Definitive Zoroastrian Critique of Islam. Chapters 11–12 of the Škand gumānīg wizār by Mardānfarrox Son of Ohrmazddād, by Christian C. Sahner (translation and commentary)
The Book of Unveiling: Early Fatimid Ismaili Doctrine in the Kitāb al-Kashf, Attributed to Ja‘far b.
Edward W. West: His journeys in India and works related to them
The present article focuses on two main topics. Firstly, it provides a general overview of Edward W. West’s travels in India, based on an investigation of unpublished documents preserved in London archives. It emerges that there may have been at least four such periods of residence, during which West developed his scientific interests. One of the main objectives of this investigation was to identify traces relating to the manuscripts of the Zoroa…
The History and Culture of Iran and Central Asia: From the Pre-Islamic to the Islamic Period
Quand les dualistes polemiquaient: Zoroastriens Et Manicheens
Breaking the Rules: Considerations on Zoroastrian Terminology Related to the Idea of Heresy
The present article is a part of a wider project devoted to the Zoroastrian Middle Persian terminology often translated in European languages as “heresy” or “heretic.” I offer here an analysis of the Middle Persian ahlomōγ according to only one text of the exegetical literature of this religious tradition, written down after the Arab conquest of Iran, namely Dēnkard 7. I propose a hypothesis according to which the majority of the contexts in whic…
The Wizirgerd ī Dēnīg and the Evil Spirit: Questions of Authenticity in Post-Classical Zoroastrianism
