  • Predictors of post traumatic growth in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation survivors

Open Access•Gemma McErlean, Caley Tapp et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Psychology•2023

In this study - the largest study of PTG in long-term allogeneic HSCT survivors - we found that growth appears ubiquitous, with 99% of survivors reporting some degree of PTG and 67% reporting moderate-high levels of PTG. Importantly, we found no association with GVHD or chronic physical post-HSCT morbidity, or adverse financial, occupational or sexual impacts. This suggests that it is the necessity for and experience of, HSCT itself that foments …

  • Effects of Late-Onset Depression and Recovery on Autobiographical Memory

Pia Fromholt, Peter Larsen et al.•ARTICLE•The Journals of Gerontology…•1995•Cited by: 1

Autobiographical memory of old people (71-90 years) suffering from a major depression for the first time was compared to groups of demented (Alzheimer type) and normal old people, using a method of free narratives. The chronological distribution of memories across the life span was similar in the groups (a peak in adolescence and young adulthood, a decrease in midlife, and increase in the most recent years), but the depressed participants had a c…

  • A Fire in the Mind

    D L Johnson, Donald-Brian Johnson et al.•ARTICLE•Philosophy East and West•1994

  • Our inner cast of characters

    Stephen Larsen, Stephen C Larsen•ARTICLE•The Humanistic Psychologist•1990

Some dream images may represent the dreamer's subpersonalities, often engaging in struggles and conflicts that mirror cultural myths. A recognition of the similarities between personal mythology and cultural mythology reminds dreamers that they are participating in a timeless drama. Facing our inner multiplicity can provide a renewed sense of meaning that dampens egocentricity and nurtures the growth of wisdom and understanding
