A Small Clovis Assemblage from Western Oklahoma
A Clovis PP/K and four flake tools were found in a small, discrete surface concentration, high in the uplands near the dmde between the Washita and Canadian rivers in far western Oklahoma. The small size of the site, its spatial isolation from any adjacent archaeological sites, the absence of campsite debris and the functional harmony of the assemblage suggest that it represents a Paleoindian toolkit.
