  • Neuropsychological Correlates of Changes in Driving Behavior Among Clinically Healthy Older Adults

    Open Access•Andrew J Aschenbrenner, Samantha Murphy et al.•ARTICLE•The Journals of Gerontology…•2022•Cited by: 2•References: 3

Attentional control is a key moderator of change over time in driving space but not driving performance in older adults. We speculate on mechanisms that may relate attentional control ability to modifications of driving behaviors

  • Initial Middle Missouri in Western South Dakota

    Ann M Johnson•ARTICLE•Plains Anthropologist•1993•References: 1

Recent fieldwork has led to the identification of several Initial Middle Missouri sites in western South Dakota. These sites appear to fit the historic period model of seasonal excursions from the Middle Missouri villages to the west for hunting and lithic resource procurement. The relatively low number of identified Initial Middle Missouri sites in western South Dakota may be a function of finding pottery in sites, not in the actual number of In…

  • Testing the Modified Initial Middle Missouri Variant

    Ann M Johnson•ARTICLE•Plains Anthropologist•1977•Cited by: 1

Taxa in the Middle Missouri subarea are differentiated largely on the basis of cultural content and time; thus, the creation of a new taxon (the Modified Initial Middle Missouri Variant of the Middle Missouri Tradition) implies change within the Initial Middle Missouri Variant - change which is implied but not documented. The objective of the present study is to examine the validity of the new taxon. The analysis relies primarily on ceramics, sup…

  • The Dune Buggy Site, 24RV1, and Northwestern Plains Ceramics

    Ann M Johnson•ARTICLE•Plains Anthropologist•1977•Cited by: 1•References: 3

The study of ceramics in the northwestern Plains has lagged since Wissler included “the lack of pottery” as one of the core Plains traits. In recent years, however, the poor development in ceramic studies is due to the lack of reported sites rather than a real void. The first part of this paper describes the Dune Buggy site and its large ceramic collection. In the second part, the pottery is identified as belonging to a non-Middle Missouri tradit…
