  • Exploring the impact of a data-feedback workshop on injury trends in a regional collegiate American football league in Japan

Open Access•Yasuyuki Umezaki, Yasuhiro Endo et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Sports and Active…•2026

The accurate ascertainment of injury epidemiology within a target population is the first step in sports injury prevention. However, in regional collegiate American football leagues in Japan, collected surveillance data have not been adequately disseminated back to the teams and players. This mixed-methods study, comprising a cross-sectional survey and a pre-post ecological analysis, aimed to explore the impact of integrating league-specific inju…

  • Sexuality education in junior high schools in Japan

Naoto Hashimoto, Hiroshi Shinohara et al.•ARTICLE•Sex Education•2012

This paper aims to determine via responses to three questionnaire surveys how sexuality education programs are conducted at junior high schools in Japan. Study 1 examined the practice of sexuality education in schools, Study 2 investigated junior high school students' (age 12–13 and 14–15 years) knowledge of sexuality, and Study 3 examined parents'/guardians' views on sexuality education. For Study 1, 703 principals of 5158 junior high schools re…

  • Pathways for Escape of Magmatic Carbon Dioxide to Soil Air at Unzen Volcano, SW Japan

    Open Access•Hiroshi A Takahashi, Kohei Kazahaya et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2004•References: 6

Estimation of the magmatic contribution to soil air at Unzen Volcano, SW Japan, was carried out using carbon isotopes, both 14 C and 13 C, and a mixing model of isotopic mass balance in order to assess the spatial variation of magmatic influence from the volcano. The advantage of using soil air samples is that a wide range of gas sampling sites can be selected. Magmatic CO 2 contributed mostly in the eastern region from Unzen Volcano. The high ma…
