  • Protection of the State of Prehistoric Mounds in Hungary

Csaba Albert Tóth, Attila Rákóczi et al.•ARTICLE•Conservation and Management of…•2018

According to the Act of 1996 on nature protection, mounds (kurgans) are natural monuments protected nationally in Hungary. According to the law, all kurgans in Hungary were to be surveyed by 2002, and 1692 were included in the cadastre. Fewer than half of the kurgans remained intact due to numerous anthropogenic impacts. A high number of disturbing artificial buildings together with soil erosion, soil removal, and afforestation have significantly…

  • Geoarchaeological Study of Szálka and Vajda Kurgans (Great Hungarian Plain) Based on Radiocarbon and Geophysical Analyses

Open Access•Csaba Albert Tóth, Zsolt Prónay et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2018•Cited by: 1•References: 19

Two archaeologically unexplored mounds were studied in the area of the central Great Hungarian Plain. The age of the construction of the mounds was clarified on the basis of radiocarbon ( 14 C) age determination of buried soil layers. Different, later-building phases of the mounds were detected by pedological and geo-electric analyses of the human-made layers. The age of the buried soils was corrected for the reservoir age of the recent soils fou…

  • Confirmation of a theory

Open Access•Laszlo Bertalan, Csaba Albert Tóth et al.•ARTICLE•Erdkunde•2016

Fluvial geomorphologists have tried to describe the outstanding tectonically affected avulsion process of Tisza River at the Great Hungarian Plain by various theoretical concepts.Flume experiments provide the ability to examine the main characteristic processes of a highlighted surface development theory under controlled settings within an accelerated time scale. Our goal was to reconstruct and refine these hypotheses from a new experimental point…

  • Resisting Bellamy

Csaba Toth, Csaba Albert Tóth•ARTICLE•Utopian Studies•2012•Cited by: 1

Scientific socialism as developed by the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), the world's largest workers' party, and the Second International, basically a creation of German socialists, viewed utopianism as empirically unverifiable. The publication, wide circulation, and enormous success in Germany of Edward Bellamy's Looking Backward therefore posed a strong challenge to the leaders of the SPD, Karl Kautsky and August Bebel, and it attract…

  • J-Pop and performances of young female identity

    Open Access•Csaba Toth, Csaba Albert Tóth•ARTICLE•Young•2008•Cited by: 5•References: 9

This article examines the staging of sexuality and femininity in Japan Pop (J-Pop) and its related club-cultural scenes. While historical research on many aspects of gender in Japan has been extensive, the relationship between popular music culture, gender, and urban space has been given little recognition. Based on extensive field research in Japan, the article provides an analysis of not only how present-day female stars, Ayumi Hamasaki, Shina …
