  • Recent developments in Quaternary dating methods

    Open Access•I Hajdas, Ivy-Och et al.•ARTICLE•Geographica Helvetica•2008

An overview of methods to numerically date continental Quaternary deposits is provided including radiocarbon, Uranium series, cosmogenic nuclides, luminescence and electron spin resonance. Physical background and methodology are briefly described and potential problems as well as recent developments in the field are highlighted

  • Paleoglacial records from Kavron Valley, NE Turkey

    Open Access•N Akçar, V Yavuz et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2007

  • Cosmogenic exposure dating of snow-avalanche ridges Eastern Black Sea Mountains, NE Turkey

  • Be Analyses with a Compact AMS Facility—Are Bef 2 Samples the Solution

    Open Access•L Wacker, M Grajcar et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2004•References: 4

The injection of 10 BeF - instead of 10 BeO - into a compact accelerator mass spectrometry system with a terminal voltage of 0.58 MV was investigated, because BF - molecules are unstable and isobaric interference of 10 B with 10 Be can thus be significantly reduced. We describe the method we developed to prepare BeF 2 samples. 10 Be was measured in a segmented gas ionization detector. Separation of 10 Be from 10 B could be achieved both for ions …

  • Be, 14 C Distribution, and Soil Production Rate in a Soil Profile of a Grassland Slope at Heshan Hilly Land, Guangdong

    Open Access•CD Shen, J Beer et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2004•References: 16

Concentrations of organic carbon, carbon isotopes ( 13 C and 14 C), atmospheric 10 Be in soil, and in situ 10 Be in bedrock and weathering rock were determined in a study of a profile of a grassland slope at the Heshan Hilly Land Interdisciplinary Experimental Station, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in Guangdong Province, China. A good linear relationship between depth and the 14 C apparent age of the organic carbon demonstrates that the rock weath…

  • Santa Fe Workshop Abstracts

    Open Access•Paul R Bierman, Patrick Larsen et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1996•Cited by: 1•References: 1

We have taken a variety of approaches to refine the existing 10Be and 26A1 production rate estimates of
