  • Record of vegetation, climate change, human impact and retting of hemp in Garhwal Himalaya (India) during the past 4600 years

    Open Access•Dieter Demske, Pavel E Tarasov et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2016•Cited by: 2•References: 22

This study is focused on a 3.55-m-long sediment core retrieved from Badanital (i.e. the BT core) in 2008. Badanital (30°29′50′′N, 78°55′26′′E, 2083 m a.s.l.) is a small lake located in the upper catchment area of the Ganges in Garhwal Himalaya, northern India. The lake and the regional broad-leaved semi-evergreen forests are under the influence of the Indian Summer Monsoon (ISM) and westerly associated cyclones. Palynological investigation of the…

  • Cannabis in Eurasia

    Open Access•Tengwen Long, Mayke Wagner et al.•ARTICLE•Vegetation History and…•2016•Cited by: 15•References: 26

  • Potential of pollen and non-pollen palynomorph records from Tso Moriri (Trans-Himalaya, NW India) for reconstructing Holocene limnology and human–environmental interactions

Open Access•Christian Leipe, Dieter Demske et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2014

  • A Holocene pollen record from the northwestern Himalayan lake Tso Moriri

Open Access•Christian Leipe, Dieter Demske et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2014

  • A standard sample method for controlling microfossil data precision

Open Access•Takeshi Nakagawa, Hiroyuki Kitagawa et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2013

  • Atlas of pollen, spores and further non-pollen palynomorphs recorded in the glacial-interglacial late Quaternary sediments of Lake Suigetsu, central Japan

    Open Access•Dieter Demske, Pavel E Tarasov et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2013

  • Extraction and AMS Radiocarbon Dating of Pollen from Lake Baikal Sediments

Open Access•Natalia Piotrowska, Andrzej Bluszcz et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2004•Cited by: 7•References: 13

This work focuses on the preparation and dating of sporomorph (pollen and spores) concentrates of high purity. Three sediment cores recovered from Lake Baikal within the EU-Project CONTINENT were subjected to palynological analyses and accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) radiocarbon dating. Laboratory processing of concentrates was aimed at the removal of non-sporomorph organic matter by means of chemical treatment, micro-sieving, and heavy liqui…
