  • Estimation of Groundwater Residence Time Using Radiocarbon and Stable Isotope Ratio in Dissolved Inorganic Carbon and Soil CO 2

Open Access•Rahul Kumar Agrawal, Ranjan Kumar Mohanty et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2024•References: 61

Estimation of residence time of groundwater, particularly in regions with inadequate surface waters are very important for formulating sustainable groundwater management policies. We developed a technique for extracting dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) quantitatively from water for measuring its 14 C contents and presented the analytical details here. We also measured stable carbon isotope ratio (δ 13 C) in soil CO 2 and groundwater DIC to correc…

  • Resonance of the ‘4.2ka event’ and terminations of global civilizations during the Holocene, in the palaeoclimate records around PT Tso Lake, Eastern Himalaya

    Open Access•Nivedita Mehrotra, Santosh K Shah et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2019

  • Stalagmite δ18O variations in southern India reveal divergent trends of Indian Summer Monsoon and East Asian Summer Monsoon during the last interglacial

    Open Access•Narayana C Allu, Manish Tiwari et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2015

  • Radiocarbon and Stable Carbon Isotopes in Two Soil Profiles from Northeast India

    Open Access•Amzad H Laskar, M G Yadava et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2012•Cited by: 2•References: 27

Two soil profiles from northeast India, one from Bakrihawar, an agricultural land, and the other from Chandipur, a virgin hilly area from Assam, are investigated to understand the organic carbon dynamics of the area. Due to frequent flooding, the Bakrihawar soil has accumulated a higher clay content than that of Chandipur. The carbon content is less than 1% by weight in both the sites. The higher clay content is responsible for relatively more so…
