  • Rock Art in the Bartang Rock Shelter (Eastern Pamir)

Open Access•S V Shnaider, Svetlana Shnaider et al.•ARTICLE•Problems of Archaeology…•2025

The article presents the results of research on a newly discovered rock art site — the Bartang Cave located in the Kurtake Valley (Eastern Pamir, Republic of Tajikistan). The site was identified during the 2024 field surveys, and the archaeological study was conducted in 2025. The cave is associated with Jurassic limestone outcrops at an altitude of 4142 m above sea level. Five pigmentmade images were recorded in the cave. All of the images repre…

  • Applying Bayesian Analysis to Suppress Dating Errors in Archaeological Collections

    Open Access•L A Kutnyakova•ARTICLE•Problems of Archaeology…•2025

Analyzing the discovered artifacts, which entails establishing the time of their origin and use, is an important part of the work of archaeologists. Many methods used for such studies may generally be divided into the methods of relative and absolute dating. Absolute dating emerged with the beginning of radiocarbon analysis and currently employs many methods. However, radiocarbon dating which makes it possible to date organic samples of not older…

  • Comparative Features of Binp Ams and Micadas Facilities Working at Ams Golden Valley, Russia

    Open Access•Alexey Petrozhitskiy, Е В Пархомчук et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2024•Cited by: 1•References: 10

The AMS Golden Valley radiocarbon analysis laboratory is equipped with two accelerator mass spectrometers: AMS facility from Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics (BINP AMS) and MIni CArbon DAting System (MICADAS-28) from Ionplus AG and two graphitization systems: Automated Graphitization Equipment (AGE-3) from Ionplus AG and Absorption-catalytic setup developed in Boreskov Institute of Catalysis (ACS BIC). The laboratory provides routine 14 C anal…
