  • Overweight, high blood pressure and impaired fasting glucose in Uyghur, Han, and Kazakh Chinese children and adolescents

    Weili Yan, W L Yan et al.•ARTICLE•Ethnicity and Health•2014

The prevalence of HBP and IFG differed significantly among Uyghurs, Hans, and Kazakhs, and the ethnic differences observed in childhood were consistent with those observed in adults from the same region. While childhood obesity is a significant risk factor for hypertension and elevated glucose, the differences among ethnic groups were not explained by obesity alone

  • Chemical weathering of the loess deposits in the lower Changjiang Valley, China, and paleoclimatic implications

    Open Access•S Y Yang, C X Li et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2004

  • Genotoxicity Study on Nicotine and Nicotine-Derived Nitrosamine by Accelerator Mass Spectrometry

    Open Access•X S Li, H F Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1996•Cited by: 1•References: 15

We have studied DNA adduction with 14 C-labeled nicotine and nicotine-derived nitrosamine, 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK), by accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) in mouse liver at doses equivalent to low-level exposure of humans. The dose ranges of nicotine and NNK administered were from 0.4 μg to 4.0×10 2 μg kg b.w. -1 , and from 0.1 μg to 2.0×10 4 μg kg b.w. -1 , respectively. In the exposure of mice to either nicotine or …
