  • Quebec Radiocarbon Measurements III

Open Access•Louis Barrette, Pierre La Salle et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1981•References: 8

The results presented in this list have been obtained by benzene synthesis and liquid scintillation counting: ages are calculated using the 14 C half-life of 5570 yr with 0.95 activity of NBS oxalic acid as modern standard, with no correction. The given precision is obtained from a one-standard-deviation criterion

  • Variations of 14 C in Oats Grown from 1957 to 1978 in Quebec

Open Access•Louis Barrette, Pierre Lasalle et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1980•Cited by: 3•References: 6

Annual atmospheric radiocarbon concentrations for the year 1957 to 1978 are measured through oat seeds grown in the rural region of La Pocatière, Québec (70° W, 47° N). Results follow the general pattern of other curves obtained from grains elsewhere in the northern hemisphere. Some disagreements suggest a non-uniform mixing process with faster response to stratospheric contamination in definite regions
