An early-Holocene pollen, mollusc and ostracod sequence from lake marl at Llangorse Lake, South Wales, UK
An integrated analysis of molluscs, ostracods and pollen is presented from early Holocene lake marl at Llangorse Lake, Powys, South Wales. The mollusc and ostracod records reflect a littoral environment with increasing eutrophic conditions and a progressive shallowing of lake waters, although the record does not begin until around 9600 BP, probably due to the isolated location. The pollen profile provides evidence of both local and regional veget…
The Excavation of Two Cairns and Associated Features at Carneddau, Carno, Powys, 1989–90
The complete excavation of one and the partial excavation of a second bronze age structured cairn are described. The excavations provided important evidence for the construction sequence of the cairns and Welsh bronze age funerary practices. A series of radiocarbon dates was obtained for the collared urns associated with the cairns

THE EARTHWORKS of a group of pillow mounds in association with four buildings were surveyed and partially excavated during 1978 and 1979 in advance of destruction. Below the earthen mounds, on the former ground surface, were alignments of flat stones found to cover a network of artificial burrows for rabbits.
