  • The Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation as productivity regulator of the North Atlantic Subtropical Gyre

Open Access•Sílvia Nave, Silvia Osorio Nave et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2019

Spatially extensive and intense phytoplankton blooms observed off Iberia, in satellite pictures, are driven by significant nutrient supply by upper-ocean vertical mesoscale activity rather than by horizontal advection by coastal upwelling. Productivity of oligotrophic regions is still poorly depicted by discrete instrumental and model data sets. The paleoproductivity reconstructions of these areas represent the mean productivity over long periods…

  • Macintosh Program performs time‐series analysis

Open Access•Didier Paillard, Laurent Labeyrie et al.•ARTICLE•Eos•1996

A Macintosh computer program that can perform many time‐series analysis procedures is now available on the Internet free of charge. Although AnalySeries was originally designed for paleoclimatic time series, it can be useful for most fields of Earth sciences. The program's graphical user interface allows easy access even for people unfamiliar with computer calculations. Previous versions of the program are already used by hundreds of scientists w…

  • Correlations between climate records from North Atlantic sediments and Greenland ice

Open Access•Gérard C Bond, Gerard Bond et al.•ARTICLE•Nature•1993

  • Evidence for massive discharges of icebergs into the North Atlantic ocean during the last glacial period

Open Access•Gérard C Bond, Gerard Bond et al.•ARTICLE•Nature•1992

  • AMS- 14 C Ages Measured in Deep Sea Cores from the Southern Ocean

Open Access•Edouard Bard, Laurent Labeyrie et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•1989

14 C dates obtained by accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) on monospecific foraminiferal samples from two deep-sea sediment cores raised in the Indian sector of the Southern Ocean have been corrected for the difference in 14 C composition between atmosphere and sea surface by using a reconstruction of the latitudinal 14 C gradient which existed in the Southern Ocean prior to 1962. The corrected AMS- 14 C data show a reduced sedimentation rate in …

  • AMS 14C Study of Transient Events and of the Ventilation Rate of the Pacific Intermediate Water During the Last Deglaciation

Jean-Claude Duplessy, Maurice Arnold et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1989•Cited by: 1

14 C analysis of monospecific samples of planktonic and benthic foraminifera were performed in deep-sea sediment cores from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans by Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS). These measurements demonstrate that the Younger Dryas cold event, first described in the north Atlantic, is also present at the same time in the north Pacific Ocean. The comparison of the 14 C ages of planktonic and benthic foraminifera from the same sed…
