  • Accelerator Mass Spectrometry of 14 C at the Australian National University

    Open Access•L K Fifield, G L Allan et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1992•Cited by: 2•References: 4

A 14 C measurement capability has been developed on the 14UD accelerator at the Australian National University. At present, this system operates on a medium-precision, low-throughput basis with slow cycling between isotopes. We describe unusual features of the system, and review preliminary experience with this mode of operation, in sample preparation, and with a recently installed injection system

  • The Role of 36Cl and 14C Measurements in Australian Groundwater Studies

    J R Bird, G E Calf et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1989

An Accelerator Mass Spectrometry system has been developed using the 14UD tandem accelerator at the Australian National University. It has been used for 36 Cl measurements on groundwater samples from the Murray Basin in southeastern Australia. Measurements of 14 C have also been made on the same groundwaters. The information can be combined with stable isotope ratios and other data to illustrate the occurrence of processes such as radioactive dec…
