  • Hydrological changes and landform evolution since the Bølling-Allerød interstadial in the Eastern Great Rann of Kachchh, India

    Open Access•Ayushi Bhatnagar, Anil D Shukla et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2025•Referencias: 81

The post-glacial (Bølling-Allerød) sedimentary archive preserved in the Eastern Great Rann of Kachchh (EGRK) is used to reconstruct the pattern of Indian Summer Monsoon (ISM) variability, landform evolution, and the impact on the Indus Valley Civilization (IVC). Employing the sedimentology, geochemistry, and chronology supported by statistical analysis, four major phases of strengthened and weakened monsoon conditions are inferred. The pattern of…

  • Causes and implications of Mid- to Late Holocene relative sea-level change in the Gulf of Kachchh, western India

Open Access•Shubhra Sharma, Gaurav Chauhan et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2021

The relict intertidal deposits from the Kharod River Estuary, Gulf of Kachchh, and the distal end of Kori Creek are used to infer the Mid- to Late Holocene relative sea-level (RSL) change in western India. Employing sedimentology, geochemistry, palynology, ichnology, and optical and radiocarbon dating, the study suggests the dominance of fluvial activity between 16.5 ± 1.6 and 9.9 ± 0.7 ka. After ~7 ka (7.3 ± 0.4, 6.8 ± 0.5 ka), the sea level sho…

  • Early Holocene Indian summer monsoon and its impact on vegetation in the Central Himalaya

    Open Access•Sambit Ghosh, Prasanta Sanyal et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2020•Citada por: 3•Referencias: 7

Increase in rainfall during the early Holocene has been reported from different regions of Indian subcontinent, although the magnitude shows spatial variability with lower change in higher rainfall regions and vice versa. While the early-Holocene rainfall records are available from lowland areas of the Indian sub-continent, the record is poorly documented from the high-altitude Central Himalayan region where orography plays an important role in t…

  • New evidence of early Iron Age to Medieval settlements from the southern fringe of Thar Desert (western Great Rann of Kachchh), India

Open Access•Anindya Sarkar, Arati Deshpande Mukherjee et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeological Research in Asia•2019•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 10

  • Reconstruction of Late Quaternary climate and seismicity using fluvial landforms in Pindar River valley, Central Himalaya, Uttarakhand, India

Open Access•Girish Ch Kothyari, Anil D Shukla et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2017

  • Mid-Holocene extreme hydrological events in the eastern Great Rann of Kachchh, western India

    Open Access•Mamata Ngangom, S Bhandari et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2017

  • Third pole

    Open Access•B S Kotlia, R R Yadav et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2017

  • Fluvial landforms and their implication towards understanding the past climate and seismicity in the northern Katrol Hill Range, western India

    Falguni Bhattacharya, B K Rastogi et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2014

  • Monsoon variability and chemical weathering during the late Pleistocene in the Goriganga basin, higher central Himalaya, India

    Open Access•Steven P Beukema, R V Krishnamurthy et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2011

Stable isotope analysis along with radiocarbon and luminescence dating of late Pleistocene lacustrine deposits at Burfu in the higher central Himalaya are used to interpret hydrologic changes in the lake basin. From 15.5 ka to ~ 14.5 ka the Burfu lake was largely fed by melting glaciers. A warming event at 14.5 ka suggests an enhanced monsoon and increased carbonate weathering. From ~ 13.5 ka to ~ 12.5 ka the isotopic data suggest large-amplitude…

  • Palaeosols within Loess

    Open Access•Sheela Kusumgar, D P Agrawal et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1986•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 2

The 14 C dates of Kashmir loess-palaeosols form five clusters. The dates, mineral magnetic, stable isotopic, and pollen data help decipher major climatic oscillations as distinct from the minor ones
