  • Hysteresis of the Antarctic ice sheet with a coupled climate-ice-sheet model

Gaëlle Leloup, Aurélien Quiquet et al.•PREPRINT•2025

Anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions and resulting global warming raise uncertainties in the future of currently existing ice sheets. The Antarctic ice sheet, which contains the equivalent of 58 meters of potential sea level rise, is expected to have a relatively small role on sea level rise in this century, but is expected to continue to lose mass afterwards and could become a major driver of sea level rise on longer timescales (Van Breedam et…

  • Use of 10 Be to Predict Atmospheric 14 C Variations during the Laschamp Excursion

Open Access•Alexandre Cauquoin, Grant Raisbeck et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2014•Cited by: 1•References: 52

The Laschamp excursion is a period of reduced geomagnetic field intensity occurring 40.7 ± 1.0 kyr ago. As a consequence, cosmogenic isotope production increased dramatically and its sensitivity to solar activity was enhanced during this period. The latter occurs because a larger fraction of the lower-energy interstellar galactic cosmic-ray particles, normally excluded by the geomagnetic field, is able to reach Earth's atmosphere. This produces a…

  • Statistical modelling of a new global potential vegetation distribution

  • From atmosphere, to climate, to Earth system science

    Didier Paillard•ARTICLE•Interdisciplinary Science Reviews•2008•Cited by: 1

  • Macintosh Program performs time‐series analysis

Open Access•Didier Paillard, Laurent Labeyrie et al.•ARTICLE•Eos•1996

A Macintosh computer program that can perform many time‐series analysis procedures is now available on the Internet free of charge. Although AnalySeries was originally designed for paleoclimatic time series, it can be useful for most fields of Earth sciences. The program's graphical user interface allows easy access even for people unfamiliar with computer calculations. Previous versions of the program are already used by hundreds of scientists w…
