This paper undertakes an aesthetic reading of Abdilatif Abdalla’s anthology of his prison poetry, Sauti ya Dhiki [Voice of Agony]. While his poetry has been repeatedly analyzed as a form of critical discourse, its poetic angle has so far been rather neglected.
