The socio-economic and political contexts have changed but the system, as well as the desire for reform, have remained. The municipality still plays a leading role even if the number and variety of intermunicipal structures have increased. Today, in large towns, and even urban regions, the homogenisation of social habits no longer…

Cooperation between boroughs. In spite of pure arguments against the small size of French advanced boroughs since the revolution age, they kept lasting. Their different ways of cooperation do not aim at settling new entities but at maintaining their autonomy, at protecting the advantages of their own populations while linking them to the steps and constraints of change as well in a management field - apparently centralized as social housing

  • An Empirical Comparison of Two Methods for Testing the Significance of a Correlation Matrix

Open Access•Gale A Wilson, Samuel Martin et al.•ARTICLE•Educational and Psychological…•1983

The present paper reports on a "Monte Carlo" comparison of two methods of testing the significance of a correlation matrix to determine the suitability and appropriateness of factor analysis. Bartlett's (1950) chi-square test of sphericity and Steiger's (1980) chi-square test are evaluated using 320 computer-generated correlation matrices from samples of N = 20 and N = 200, having actual population correlation coefficients ranging from .01 to .64…
