O objectivo essencial do presente trabalho é utilizar a composição mineral das fracções finas (siltosa e argilosa) para o estabelecimento de uma zonografia vertical mais fina. Assim como para o despiste c caracterização de variações climáticas, ocorrentes nas áreas fonte dos sedimentos e no meio de depósito dos mesmos e, também para reconstituições morro-climáticas.
