  • From Mineralogy to Philology

    Kate Khan•ARTICLE•Philosophical Literary Journal…•2024

From Aristotle and Albert the Great and up to modern geological surveys the studies of stones and minerals as non-human forms of existence turned out to be more or less theoretically loaded with anthropomorphism. Stone as one of the first materials for technical and writing tools (from the Stone Age) used to provide elementary and radically passive prototypes for the works of art. A special provocation to create art consists precisely in those pr…

  • Hazrat Inayat Khan and His Sufi Music Metaphysics

    Open Access•Kate Khan•ARTICLE•Oriental Courier•2020

This article provides a philosophical interpretation of theoretical works of Hazrat Inayat Khan, which appear to form a consistent monistic metaphysical system, which is aimed to overcome the false opposition of the matter and the spirit, in order to articulate the common knowledge of science and religion in the language of art. The essential part of his ontology is Sufi doctrine of music, which discovers the nature of sound and harmony. A specia…

Trigg’s), and link the placement in space with the emotional and bodily experience and the capacity of human to extend beyond. Phenomenological descriptions of the spacial experience indicate the deeply emotional colouring of human attitude towards place, that implies searching for one’s “own place in t…
