The effect of retrieval exposure duration on the reconsolidation and extinction of fear memory
Abnormal resting-state functional connectivity of hippocampal subregions in type 2 diabetes mellitus-associated cognitive decline
T2DACD showed a significant decrease in attentional inhibition and working memory, peripheral pro-inflammatory response increased, and abnormalities RSFC of the hippocampal subregions with default mode network and sensory-motor network. T2DM did not show a significant cognitive decline, but peripheral pro-inflammatory response increased and abnormalities RSFC of the hippocampus subregions occurred in the brain. In addition, the left precuneus may…
Effects of self-stereotype on older adults' self-integrity through the intervening effects of sense of coherence and empathy
Self-integrity plays a vital role in the psychological wellbeing of older adults. The present study investigated whether or not the confrontation with negative, self-stereotyped information leads to a deterioration of older adults' self-integrity. Additionally, the current study attempted to examine the mediating effects of sense of coherence and empathy on the relationship between self-stereotype and self-integrity. A total of 825 Chinese older …
The effect of stereotype threat on females’ spatial perspective taking and the mediating role of executive functions
The activation of histone deacetylases 4 prevented endothelial dysfunction
These results prove the key role of HDAC4 in diabetes-induced microvascular dysfunction and underlying epigenetic mechanisms for the protective effect of HGWWD in diabetes
Joint exposure to outdoor ambient air pollutants and incident chronic kidney disease
Objectives There is paucity of studies to investigate the association between combined and long-term exposure to air pollution and the risk of incident chronic kidney disease (CKD) in older adults. Methods A prospective cohort of 90,032 older adults who did not have CKD at baseline were followed up from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2019. Various pollutant data, including particulate matter with diameters ≤ 2.5 mm (PM 2.5 ), ≤ 10 mm (PM 10 ), …

Tumor Necrosis Factor-α Variations in Patients With Major Depressive Disorder Before and After Antidepressant Treatment
Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) had been identified as a key pro-inflammatory cytokine in the pathophysiology of major depressive disorder (MDD) and the mechanism of antidepressant treatment. The primary aim of the present study was to examine the serum TNF-α levels in Chinese inpatients with MDD during the acute phase and to explore the changes in TNF-α levels after effective clinical treatment. Fifty-seven consecutive inpatients with MDD and 30…
The role of location and trajectory information in the recovery of moving objects
