  • Reading the urban margin

Meihui Li, David Brönnimann et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science…•2026

Urban open and marginal spaces are often regarded as archaeologically “empty”, although their deposits may preserve detailed evidence of urban development. This study examines a fifteenth-century Urban Dark Earth sequence at Broodstraat, Oudenaarde, Belgium. Soil micromorphology, integrated with archaeological and historical evidence, identified nine phases of recurrent alluviation, detritual inputs by river and human action, incipient soil devel…

  • Predicting donation behavior from psychophysiological responses to music with prosocial lyrics

Open Access•Qiujian Xu, Miaomiao Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica•2026

BACKGROUND: According to the General Learning Model (GLM), music with prosocial lyrics is assumed to promote prosocial behavior by eliciting empathy. However, existing research has primarily relied on self-report questionnaires to assess empathy. Such measures are susceptible to social desirability bias and individual differences, making it difficult to objectively capture empathic responses. Open Access•Meihui Li, Hongxia Ye•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2024

We investigated the relationship between parental conflict and adolescent academic burnout, along with the mediating role of the parent–child relationship and the moderating role of teacher support. We surveyed 886 firstyear secondary vocational school students in Foshan City using four scales: the Adolescent Student Burnout Inventory, the Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale, the Parent–Child Closeness Scale, and the Students' P…

  • Using energy vulnerability to measure distributive injustice in rural heating energy reform

Open Access•Shengyue Fan, Shuai Zha et al.•ARTICLE•Ecological Economics•2022

  • Measuring gender norms about relationships in early adolescence

Open Access•Claire Moreau, Meihui Li et al.•ARTICLE•SSM - Population Health•2018

This study reveals common perceptions of gendered norms about romantic engagement in early adolescence, normative for both sexes, but socially valued for boys while devaluated for girls. The findings illustrate that social hierarchies of power in romantic relationships form early in adolescence, regardless of cultural setting
