  • Emotion regulation variability and affective dynamics in alcohol use disorder

    Open Access•Mateusz Wojtczak, Katarzyna Kucharska•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica•2026

BACKGROUND: Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is characterised by deficits in emotion regulation, yet the role of momentary variability in regulatory strategies for everyday affect remains unclear. This study examined whether higher between-strategy variability is associated with lower negative affect and higher positive affect, and whether these associations differ between individuals with AUD and healthy controls (HC). METHOD: A total of 215 adults (1…

  • A moderated mediation model in assessing links between rumination, emotional reactivity, and suicidal risk in alcohol use disorder

Open Access•Mateusz Wojtczak, Karol Karasiewicz et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

Therapeutic interventions should focus on reducing ruminations and emotion reactivity to effectively reduce suicide risk in this group. Further research is needed to better understand these mechanisms

It appears to be a complex clinical construct predisposing an individual to developing and maintaining anorexia nervosa (AN), as well as having considerable impact on prolonging the duration of this illness and its relapse risk. The aim of the research work was to assess whe…
