  • Transfer Effects of Integrated Adaptive Working Memory Training in School-Age Children

Open Access•Yuan Tao, Tao Yuan et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Intelligence•2026

The efficacy of working memory training (WMT) in facilitating academic achievement remains heavily debated. To resolve this efficacy paradox, the current study implemented an integrated adaptive WMT (IA-WMT) paradigm to investigate near transfer to inhibitory control (IC) and far transfer to mathematical abilities in school-age children. We assigned 89 typically developing children (Mage = 109.08 ± 3.90 months; 43 girls) to an IA-WMT group (29 st…

  • The joint effects of sleep duration and exercise habit on all-cause mortality among Chinese older adult

Open Access•Na Li, Kexin Ren et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

This study examines the combined effects of sleep duration and exercise habits on all-cause mortality in older Chinese adults using data from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS). Methods: Data were collected from 7231 residents aged 60 and above from the CLHLS. Participants were categorized based on their sleep duration (short sleep: 8 hours) and exercise habits (physically active, physically inactive, inactive-to-active, an…

  • Political Corruption and Accounting Conservatism

Lingmin Xie, Jeong-Bon Kim et al.•ARTICLE•European Accounting Review•2025

We investigate how local political corruption shapes corporate financial reporting conservatism. Using a large sample of U.S. public firms, we find that firms located in areas with higher levels of political corruption tend to adopt greater accounting conservatism. We also find that firms in more corrupt areas bear greater political expropriation costs. Further analysis reveals that the positive effect of corruption on conservatism is stronger fo…

  • The longitudinal influence of cyberbullying victimization on depression, self-esteem and academic burnout among Chinese adolescents

Open Access•Yanping Lu, Lei Dang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

Cyberbullying victimization (CV) has been linked to numerous adverse psychological outcomes among adolescents. While previous research has established associations between CV and negative outcomes including depression, diminished self-esteem, and academic burnout, the potential protective mechanisms in these relationships remain underexplored. This longitudinal study investigated the mediating role of mindfulness in the relationships between CV a…

  • The longitudinal relationship between family socioeconomic status and students' academic achievement

Open Access•Tianci Zhang, Wei Shao et al.•ARTICLE•British Journal of Psychology•2025•References: 72

This study examined the longitudinal relationship between family socioeconomic status (family SES) and students' academic achievement through learning anxiety‐learning engagement profiles and the moderating role of negative parenting styles. Using longitudinal data from 425 Chinese primary students (200 boys, M age = 9.73 ± 0.86 years old) across three seasons (winter, spring and summer) with three‐month intervals, latent profile analysis identif…

  • Classification of Seismaesthesia Information and Seismic Intensity Assessment by Multi-Model Coupling

Open Access•Qingzhou Lv, Wanzeng Liu et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2023

Earthquake disaster assessment is one of the most critical aspects in reducing earthquake disaster losses. However, traditional seismic intensity assessment methods are not effective in disaster-stricken areas with insufficient observation data. Social media data contain a large amount of disaster information with the advantages of timeliness and multiple temporal-spatial scales, opening up a new channel for seismic intensity assessment. Based on…

  • The Joint Method of Triple Attention and Novel Loss Function for Entity Relation Extraction in Small Data-Driven Computational Social Systems

Open Access•Honghao Gao, Jiadong Huang et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2022

With the development of the social Internet of Things (IoT) and multimedia communications, our daily lives in computational social systems have become more convenient; for example, we can share shopping experiences and ask questions of people in an ad hoc network. Relation extraction focuses on supervised learning with adequate training data, and it helps to understand the knowledge behind the observed information. However, if only some social da…

  • Removal of Sulfonamide Resistance Genes in Fishery Reclamation Mining Subsidence Area by Zeolite

Open Access•Tao Yuan, Zibo Lin et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

A majority of subsidence lakes were reclaimed as fish ponds, but the widespread use of antibiotics has caused the pollution of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). This paper uses zeolite as a filter material to construct a horizontal submersible wastewater treatment device and explores its effect on the removal of conventional pollutants and sulfonamide ARGs in wastewater. The results showed that the removal of total nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen…
