Sex Differences in Attitudes Toward School
S ummary . This research compares teachers' perceptions of boys' and girls' attitudes to school with the students' own reports. Students (N = 2670) in Israeli elementary, middle and high school classes (N = 77) reported on their general satisfaction, commitment to schoolwork and relations with teachers and their teachers evaluated each student's attitudes for these domains. Results indicated that in most classes girls have more positive attitudes…
Extensions of Computer Analyses for Multifactor Split-Plot Designs With Unequal N
Following a method to analyze split-plot designs which have one "between subjects" variable with unequal n, and one "within subjects" variable, an extension is suggested to analyze more complicated designs. The technique presented is based on a program in Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) (Nie, Hull, Jenkins, Steinbrenner, and Bent, 1975)
Computer Analysis of Split-Plot Designs with Unequal N
A computer analysis for a split plot design with unequal number of subjects in treatment groups is described. The technique presented is based on the SPSS (1975) package. A worked out example, based on Kirk's (1968) data, with full documentation is presented
The Development and Validation of a Multidimensional Scale for Assessment of Teachers' Attitudes Toward Small-Group Teaching
A scale measuring attitudes toward small-group teaching was administered to 442 teachers from 28 elementary and secondary schools in Israel. At least two dimensions of attitudes were identified: control over class and efficiency of the method. Each has been shown to have internal consistency and incremental validity with respect to a set of external variables
