    Twenty-four Fischer 344 rats were assigned at birth to one of three treatment conditions: Handled, Control, and Enriched Environment. A comparison of barpress behavior in the presence of free food was made between the three groups. It was found that the handled animals barpressed for a significantly greater percentage of their reinforcement supply (p < .05) than did the control and enriched animals.
